What is this about?
Last year I unintentionally introduced some seizure-prone gerbils into my breeding program. As a result, pups from these lines have occasional seizures. These seizures are NOT SEVERE, and I am working to resolve the issue through selective breeding.
During a seizure, a gerbil will freeze up for 2-3 minutes, then resume normal activity. If the seizure is mild you may not even notice it.
These gerbils will still make wonderful pets, so please consider them!
Most gerbils “outgrow” seizures as they get older (usually before the age of 6 months).
